matthew rose
Matthew Rose was born in New York. A graduate of Brown University (BA/Linguistics and Semiotics), Matthew Rose has exhibited his collage works, drawings, paintings and objects throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. He moved to Paris in 1992 and has been living and working there ever since.
He is the author of several books of art work including, People (Red Fox Press, 2015), Weekend Plans (Blurb, 2016), evidence (Burning Boy Books, 2017), The Self Improvement Alphabet (Red Fox Press, 2018), Coronaville (Blurb, 2020).
His most recent exhibition was at The Karuizawa New Art Museum in Karuizawa and Tokyo, Japan. Matthew Rose has also conceived and curated several projects, including A Book About Death, a project inspired by the artist, Ray Johnson. Launched at The Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery in New York City in 2009, the collective exhibition has since brought together thousands of artists as it has been re-imagined and re-staged across the world, most recently at the Karuizawa New Art Museum in Japan (December 2020). KNAM, along with MoMA (NYC), LACMA (LA, CA) now archive original editions of the original NYC works in their permanent collections.

The artist has no animals, wild or domestic, at the moment but would like to get a puppy, though his neighbors are not voting in any way shape or form for this to happen as they are already none too happy with his playing mandolin at all hours of the night.
